  1. Sounds

As with pictures, it is also possible to associate individual sounds with each topic. We feel that this is not likely to be a greatly used feature, and so there is no Notebook Maker interface to add or remove the sounds. However, if you‚Äôre handy with ResEdit, it is a relatively simply matter. To add a sound to a topic, follow these steps:

  5.     1) Use any method to obtain the new 'snd ' sound resource.

  7.     2) Copy it to the clipboard.
  8.  
  9.     3) Open your new Notebook with ResEdit.
  10.  
  11.     4) Paste the sound into the Notebook to create a new 'snd ' resource.

  13.     5) Renumber this new snd resource to the same number as the ‚ÄòTEXT‚Äô 
  14.        resource that contains the topic text you wish to associate this 
  15.        sound with.

  18. Note: If enough users indicate that they wish to associate sounds with their Notebooks, we may add the necessary interface to Notebook Maker in the future.

  20. ‚ÄòCommander‚Äô does not recognise these sounds, so there is no point in adding sounds to a Command Set file.
